Andrew Cassel is a teacher, choreographer and performer from Denver, Colorado. His family opened and owns the dance studio RISE Dance Co. in Golden, Colorado where he works as co-owner, artistic director, & dance instructor in the styles of hip-hop, tap, lyrical, contemporary, & jazz. Andrew graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2015, and continues to choreograph for the University’s School of Theatre Arts & Dance program. Some of his favorite credits are “Alphabet Street” featuring the music of Prince, and “Mirandas Nightmare” Dia de los Muertos in the 2016, 2017, & 2018 productions. In addition, Andrew works as a choreographer for numerous high school musicals in the surrounding Denver area including Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. Some choreography credits include “Footloose: The Musical”, Disney’s “High School Musical: On Stage”, and “Bring It On: The Musical”, which was nominated for the prestigious Bobby G. Award in 2018. Some of his performance credits include “Bring on the Men”, “Punks, A Love Story”, and “Ladies First” where he served as dance captain in each show, as well as the lead tap role of “Fred Astaire” in the University’s 33rd Annual Gala “Hollywood, Then & Now”. Andrew grew up attending Manhattan Dance Project from the age of 6, and continues to teach, assist, & travel with the company.
